How TrailGuider writes and reviews travel guidance

Who writes and reviews each guide?

TrailGuider assigns guides by subject. Rail and coach coverage is led by Maya Thompson, city and lodging coverage by Daniel Kim, and airport and itinerary coverage by Elena Morales. Marcus Reed reviews transportation evidence. Priya Shah reviews clarity, assumptions and editorial consistency.

Each article links to the relevant team profiles and shows the date of the completed review. An author cannot replace the two assigned editor reviews.

Which sources does TrailGuider use?

TrailGuider starts with transportation operators, airports, transit agencies and other primary sources. A secondary source may provide context, but it does not replace an available official source for a fare, timetable, service rule, construction notice or accessibility instruction.

• Material factual claims must point to a source that supports the published words.
• Each source records when it was checked.
• Dynamic information receives a recheck interval.
• Unknown or conflicting evidence remains visible instead of being guessed.

How does TrailGuider describe changing information?

Schedules, fares, construction, service disruptions and baggage rules can change after publication. TrailGuider labels these details as current, typical, historical, estimated or unknown. A typical planning range is never described as live availability or a guarantee.

How is AI used in the editorial process?

AI may organize research material and generate an article outline. A named author remains responsible for the published article. Marcus Reed and Priya Shah complete the evidence and editorial reviews before publication. AI does not set the Easy, Caution or Replan verdict.

TrailGuider may use AI-generated supporting images. Those images are illustrative, are not evidence for a travel claim and are not presented as documentary or on-location photography.

How are sponsorships and commissions handled?

TrailGuider may accept sponsorships or earn commissions. A relevant commercial relationship must be disclosed where a reader encounters the affected recommendation or link. Sponsors and commercial partners cannot select a planner verdict, bypass source requirements or remove a documented limitation.

How are errors and updates handled?

Readers can report an error to contact@trailguider.com. TrailGuider aims to acknowledge a correction report within five business days. Material corrections receive a visible note; minor spelling and formatting fixes do not.
