How to report and correct a TrailGuider error
Send a correction report to contact@trailguider.com. TrailGuider aims to acknowledge the report within five business days, checks the claim against the strongest available source and updates material errors with a visible correction note.
What should a correction report include?
- The URL of the affected guide or result page.
- The exact sentence, table row or instruction in question.
- Why the information appears wrong or incomplete.
- A supporting official source when one is available.
- The date and local context if the issue concerns live service.
How does TrailGuider review a reported error?
- The assigned evidence editor checks the published claim and source date.
- The editor compares the report with the operator or agency source.
- The author checks whether the correction changes the surrounding guidance.
- The editorial standards editor checks the revised wording and disclosure.
If reliable sources conflict, the article states the uncertainty. A disputed live condition is not converted into a guaranteed fact.
Which corrections are shown publicly?
A material correction changes a fare, duration, route, service rule, accessibility instruction, risk explanation or recommendation. The article receives a dated correction note explaining what changed. Minor spelling, punctuation, formatting and broken-link repairs may be made without a separate correction note.
Can a planner verdict be corrected?
A verdict changes only when corrected evidence changes the versioned scoring inputs or rules. An author, editor, sponsor or reader cannot manually assign an Easy, Caution or Replan result. TrailGuider records user-visible evidence updates through the normal data-version process.
The methodology page explains how evidence becomes a verdict.
