As of August 2026, TrailGuider is independently operated by an individual based in the United States. Named writers prepare the guidance, and named editors review the evidence and instructions.
What TrailGuider publishes
TrailGuider helps first-time international visitors judge whether a U.S. trip works without renting a car. The guides cover intercity routes, airport transfers, city bases, lodging areas and complete itineraries. Recommendations state their assumptions and link to the official sources used for facts that can change.
Who makes the travel decisions?
Providers and official sources supply evidence. Versioned rules, not an author, editor, sponsor or AI system, determine the planner verdict. Writers explain the result and editors check whether the published wording matches the evidence.

How is TrailGuider funded?
TrailGuider may accept sponsorships or earn commissions. A commercial relationship must be disclosed near affected content. Payment does not purchase a favorable recommendation, remove a documented limitation or change an Easy, Caution or Replan verdict.
How does TrailGuider use AI?
TrailGuider may use AI to organize research material and create article outlines. A named author reviews the resulting content, and named editors complete a second review. AI does not choose sources on its own or determine the planner verdict.
Some supporting images may be AI-generated. AI-generated images are treated as illustrations and are not presented as documentary or on-location photography.
